Wada House

“Wada House” is one of the most distinguished gassho-style houses in Shirakawa-go and is designated as an important cultural property. This house, built in the Edo period, once belonged to a prestigious family that served as a village leader, and it still remains as it used to look like to this day.

The inside is open to the public, and you can see household tools, a loft used for sericulture, and living room with a hearth that were used back then, allowing you to feel closer to their life. It also has a beautiful garden and stunning scenery, so you can relax and enjoy seasonal views there.
